The Tellington "TTOUCH" Training Method®

The Tellington TTOUCH Method is a gentle approach to working with animals without fear or force!  It truly is THE TOUCH THAT TEACHES!

Soothing touches, balance techniques and "a playground for higher learning" also known as "the confidence course" all combine to help improve your animal's health and behavior.  This is training for the body, mind and spirit of your companion animal.

WHAT IS TTOUCH?

The TTouch method of training and philosophy:

TO HONOR AND RESPECT THE ROLE OF ANIMALS AS OUR TEACHERS
TO BRING AWARENESS TO THE IMPORTANCE OF ANIMALS IN OUR LIVES
TO ENCOURAGE HARMONY, COOPERATION AND TRUST BETWEEN HUMANS AND ANIMALS
TO RECOGNIZE THE INDIVIDUAL LEARNING PROCESS OF EVERY HUMAN AND ANIMAL
TO TEACH INTERSPECIES COMMUNICATION THROUGH THE TTOUCH
TO WORK WITH ANIMALS USING UNDERSTANDING INSTEAD OF DOMINANCE

TTouch is never meant to be used as a substitute for veterinary care!

The work focuses on the Central Nervous System and any one can learn to do TTouch safely and effectively.

The body work is gentle and non-invasive, however it is not a replacement for veterinary care and should never be

used  as such. If you suspect that your animal companion has a physical problem you should contact a vet immediately.

This training method reflects the belief that animals are intelligent and can easily understand what we want without threats, pain or anxiety.

The actual TTouches are based on circular movements, slides and lifts to increase awareness and sensation, reduce stress and relax tension held in the body.  The intent of TTouch is to activate the function of the cells and increase body awareness, thereby allowing change.  This allows the body to function to it's full potential in the healing process.  As the body comes into balance, we find that the mind and emotions follow!  TTouch works via the neurological system of the body.  Just as the brain sends messages to the body, the reverse is also true.  Therefore, if there is tension in the body, there is a blockage of information to the brain.  TTouch uses non-habitual movements to activate the unused neurological pathways to the brain.  This indeed turns uncooperative animals into willing partners.  By stimulating different parts of the brain, we teach the animal to think and realize it has a choice of behavior!  By using the TTouches and a variety of other tools, like the confidence course, we can assist the animal in experiencing self-confidence in previously frightening or intimidating situations.

THE TOUCH THAT TEACHES!

TTouch is used to support training and behavior modification as well as veterinary care.

An additional benefit is a deeper rapport between humans and animals through increased

understanding and more effective communication.

TTouch creates a self awareness and therefore positive changes in behavior.

WHAT IS THE "PLAYGROUND OF HIGHER LEARNING"?

The "Playground of Higher Learning" is a confidence course.  We implement labyrinths, ladders, balance boards and various other equipment along with leading exercises.  These methods engage the brain to change habitual behavior patterns.  The animal learns to "think" and "act" rather than react.

This method is easy to learn and quickly brings lasting results.           Using the star at a TTouch clinic for companion animals
